D.I.R.G.E.zine Content Submissions!
We are looking for content for
! We seek the work of members of the writing, artistic, and gaming community who are generally under-represented in gaming and creating a fanzine ultimately for everyone, but to showcase that diversity is more than a word. That these beautiful people have always been here even if you have not seen their work. They are already part of the greater #ttrpg community and now we want to see their work.
If you are member of these under-represented groups, we want to hear from you. We seek stories, adventures, one or two-page role playing games, maps, artwork, and articles about role playing games. We are going to launch a Kickstarter campaign in February 2019 to coincide with Kickstarter's
. We suspect the zine will be ready in July or August of 2019. So if you want to submit content, use the form below. Give us your name, email, and your pitch. Try and keep it under 300 words (if you can). Submissions will be open until February 10th, 2019 and the final lineup decided by February 28th. The final lineup will be announced in Mid-March, but you will know long before then. We are looking for 500 to 2000 words of content for written submissions. If selected, your final submission will be due in the middle of May.
If you are wondering if you are part of under-represented group, see the
Am I working for free or is this paid?
This is PAID work. We will do our best to fairly pay those who contribute to the fanzine, assuming the Kickstarter funds of course. We are working out the payment for each contributor now; much depends on cost. However, as a contributor to D.I.R.G.E.zine you will be part of the transparent process. It is a collaboration that you get to participate in.
What can I do, if I am an ally?
Well encourage your friends to submit content. Help them work out the concepts and ideas. Back the Kickstarter in February 2019 and encourage your friends to do the same. Get the word out.
What are you looking for?
Tabletop role playing content. Articles and stories that are rpg related. Art, comics, and adventures. Monsters and space stations. Urban fantasy, science fiction, sword & sorcery, and everything else.
How do you define under-represented?
I know this is a tough question and can make people uncomfortable. So, if you are a cis-gendered, straight, white male I feel that we as a group are well represented in the gaming sphere. We plan on doing a zine with an open call for content creators from all groups later in 2019 (stay tuned), but for now the intention is to make space for the folks whose voices are heard less often.
Can I submit previously published work?
We would like the work to be new and fresh, but a sequel related to that work would be great!
